From December 23, 2025, to January 10, 2026, I had the absolute pleasure of guiding a wonderful family from New Caledonia on an extended tour across Sri Lanka. Hubert (father), Maeva (mother), Nathan, and Elouan spent 19 amazing days exploring the island's culture, wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and sunny beaches.
Celebrating Christmas and ringing in the New Year together in Sri Lanka made this journey extra special.
Tour Highlights & Itinerary Snapshot
Days 1–2: Cultural Gateway & Wildlife Beginnings (Wilpattu)
Starting from Colombo, our journey began with a coastal stop at the local fish market before heading up to Wilpattu National Park for our first wildlife safari experience.
Days 3–6: Ancient Kingdoms & Scenic Hill Country (Sigiriya & Kandy)
We explored the ancient heritage of Sigiriya and Anuradhapura, enjoyed authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry, and took in the evening view of Kandy city around the lake.
- Days 7–9: Tea Country, Waterfalls & The Iconic Train Ride (Nuwara Eliya & Ella)
Traveling into the cool mountains, we visited waterfalls like Ravana Falls and experienced the world-famous scenic train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella.
- Days 10–11: Safari Adventures & New Year Celebrations (Udawalawe & Hambantota)
Ringing in the New Year with sweet treats and warm moments, we continued our safari adventure through Udawalawe and Hambantota Birds Park, observing Sri Lanka's wildlife up close.
- Days 12–16: Southern Coastline & Coastal Charm (Mirissa, Galle & Bentota)
Unwinding along the southern coast, we walked through historic Galle Fort and enjoyed the golden beaches of Mirissa and Bentota.
- Days 17–19: Capital Exploration & A Special Family Visit (Colombo & Negombo)
Before concluding the tour, we spent time in Colombo and Negombo. One of the highlights for me was welcoming Hubert, Maeva, Nathan, and Elouan to my home in Negombo. Hosting them at my house was a truly memorable experience that turned clients into lifelong friends.
