This is the story of an extraordinary loving family from France who hired me as their personal driver and tour guide in Sri Lanka and quickly became lifelong friends.
His name is Mr. Christophe. The handsome Mr. Christophe and his charming wife, Virginie, visited Sri Lanka with their lovely children—a daughter as gentle as a princess (Capucine) and a son as handsome as a prince (Victor).
Exploring Sri Lanka Together
I had the absolute honor of spending 16 days as their dedicated chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka. Together, we explored scenic cities, ancient heritage sites, and breathtaking nature spots, including the coastal charm of Negombo, the iconic rock fortress of Sigiriya, the cultural heart of Kandy, and the pristine beaches of Pasikuda. Traveling with this incredible family was an unforgettable experience. They are remarkably humble, kind, and loving people who show deep respect to everyone they meet.
A Friend in Need: Kindness Beyond Boundaries
Our special bond didn't end when their 15-day Sri Lanka itinerary came to an end.
During the COVID-19 pandemic—a time when life in Sri Lanka became exceptionally tough and tourism ground to a halt—Mr. Christophe and his family showed the true meaning of humanity. Even from thousands of miles away in France, they remembered us and reached out with generous support.
Knowing the hardships we were facing, Mr. Christophe went above and beyond to help my family through those difficult days. He even went so far as to send a mobile phone for my child's online education, ensuring that my child's studies wouldn't be interrupted during the countrywide lockdown. That noble act of kindness is something my family and I will remember forever.
